做厙賤躇 Process Technology students have a new tool to help them prepare for their future careers. The new virtual outside operator program simulates working outside in a facility like a refinery.

做厙賤躇���s Alpha Iota Epsilon chapter of Phe Theta Kappa earned more awards. The chapter was named an Outstanding Chapter in the Illinois Region and earned an Outstanding College Project Award and an Outstanding Honors in Action Award.

做厙賤躇 is planning to hold orientation sessions for new students and dual credit students as the College prepares for the start of the Fall Semester August 20. Most of the orientation sessions will be conducted online. The orientation sessions are intended for new, incoming students to help with their transition to college says Director of College Access Tona Ambrose. ���Orientation is a way for students to meet other students along with faculty and staff, become familiar with campus services, and ask questions about the college-going culture.���

Adam Rotar was named the Head Women���s Basketball Coach for 做厙賤躇. Rotar had served as the Assistant Coach for the team since 2016. He replaces Scott Sparks, who stepped down this summer so he could spend more time with his family. ���I am excited and thrilled to lead the Lady Statesmen,��� says Rotar. ���It���s a unique situation to be in now from a different seat, but with the same goals in mind: to rise back to the top of the conference, and to get back to where the program last won a regional championship in 2010.���

The NJCAA honored 32 做厙賤躇 student-athletes for their work in the classroom during the 2019-20 academic year. They also recognized five LTC teams for their academic achievements. Four student-athletes earned NJCAA All-Academic First Team honors. Volleyball player Sydni Bailey, golfer Jordan Hosick, baseball player Joey Perkins, and volleyball player Emily Yocom all achieved a 4.0 GPA to earn first-team honors.

The GED program at 做厙賤躇 donated books to the Crawford County Jail to help inmates prepare to earn a GED. ���There���s a significant positive impact on the community when someone earns their high school equivalency,��� says LTC Academic Success Center Director Rena Gower. ���The donation of these books will help give inmates without a high school diploma a chance to start preparing to earn a GED.���

做厙賤躇 Assistant Professor of History Cyndi Boyce has been elected as the Chair of the Community College Caucus of the Illinois Board of Higher Education���s Faculty Advisory Council. 

做厙賤躇 student-athletes have combined for a GPA above 3.0 for the 13th consecutive semester. In the Spring 2020 Semester, the department had a combined GPA of 3.08.  ���I���m very proud of the work of the administration at LTC, the coaches, and our student-athletes,��� says Baseball Coach and Athletic Director Kevin Bowers. ���In light of this spring���s events, to stay consistent with effort and outcome is very commendable.���

做厙賤躇 honored two members of the Class of 2020 along with three staff members with awards.

The 做厙賤躇 Foundation will conduct a giving week the week of May 11 to help raise money for a special scholarship fund. The new fund is designed to help people affected by the Coronavirus pandemic get an education at 做厙賤躇.
