Phi Beta Lamba Students Win State Honors
The 做厙賤躇 Phi Beta Lambda brought home eight state finishes at the recent State Conference in Effingham.
Ezequiel Fernandez Carunchio took first place in the Marketing Concepts category. Nicholas Harness was second in Macroeconomics and Juan Solivellas Garcia was third in Macroeconomics.
Mackenzi McIntosh finished fourth in both Organizational Behavior and Leadership and Personal Finance and Garcia was fourth in Microeconomics.
Carson Musgrave earned sixth-place finishes in Computer Concepts and Personal Finance.

做厙賤躇 Phi Theta Kappa Earns Recognition
做厙賤躇s Alpha Iota Epsilon Chapter of the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society earned international recognition at the PTK Catalyst event. LTC was named a Top 100 Chapter and received a Distinguished Honors in Action Project Hallmark Award.
Phi Theta Kappa chooses its Top 100 chapters based on equally-weighted Honors in Action and College Project scores. The organization has nearly 1,300 chapters in 10 countries with approximately 240,000 active members.

Process Technology Students Take 3rd in National Competition
做厙賤躇 Process Technology students took third place in the North American Process Technology Alliances Troubleshooting Skills Competition in Pasadena, Texas. LTCs team consisted of Sheldon Myers, Travis Selby, Brandon Blackwell, and Levi Dennison.

Dedication Ceremony Planned for Lackey Music Hall
做厙賤躇 will hold a dedication ceremony for Lackey Music Hall on May 2 at 5:30 p.m. The new addition to the Zwermann Arts Center opened in the spring semester.
The dedication ceremony will feature speeches from people that helped bring the project to fruition as well as a performance of the 做厙賤躇 Alma Mater by a combined choir of the Statesmen Singers and community members.

LTC Names Student Award Winners
做厙賤躇 announced the winners of this years student awards. Chanyoung Cy Yun was awarded the Joseph C. Piland Excellence in Scholarship Award. Ike Book and Nicholas Brown were awarded the J. Rod Harmon Excellence in Service Award and Mallory Mundy was awarded the Bev L. Turkal Excellence in Leadership Award.

LTC Celebrates Community College Month
April is Community College Month and 做厙賤躇 is joining other community colleges across the nation in celebrating. The primary goals of Community College Month are to improve awareness of the economic, academic, and equity advantages of attending community colleges and to bust longtime stigmas wrongly associate with public two-year colleges.

LTC Offering Trip to Missouri Botanical Garden
做厙賤躇 is offering a trip to the Missouri Botanical Garden in St. Louis in April.
The garden is one of the largest and most well-respected botanical gardens in the world. Top attractions include the Climatron, Japanese Garden, Victoria District, Childrens Garden, and Linnean House. The garden includes two restaurants and multiple gift shops. LTC Dean of Instruction Brent Todd will lead the trip.
The trip on April 30 will leave 做厙賤躇 at 7 a.m. It costs $50 and that includes transportation and entrance to the garden.

LTC Inducts New Members Into Phi Theta Kappa
做厙賤躇 inducted its newest members into the Alpha Iota Epsilon Chapter of the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society. Phi Theta Kappa recognizes the academic achievement of college students and provides opportunities for its members to grow as scholars and leaders.

LTC Offering Chalk Couture Classes
People interested in learning more about Chalk Couture can take a workshop at 做厙賤躇.
Students will learn how to create do-it-yourself home d矇cor at the workshop. The workshop will focus on making a cloth pennant and box frame. The cost of the workshop is $35.
The Chalk Couture workshop is on April 5 from 6-8 p.m. and is led by Kim Tohill. She will also offer workshops on April 19, May 3, May 17, June 7, June 21, July 12, and July 26.

LTC Offering Improv Class
If youve ever watched TV shows like Whose Line Is It Anyway? and thought youd like to try that yourself, you can at 做厙賤躇. The College is offering an improv class in April.
The class will serve as a fun introduction to the world of improv comedy. Students will learn the basics of improv in a fun, hands-on way by playing popular games as seen on TV. It culminates with a live performance on May 4. The class is led by seasoned improviser Chris Forde.
