   OLNEY, Ill. ��� Outstanding students at Olney Central College have received academic honors for the Spring 2022 Semester. Students named to the Chancellor���s List have attained a grade point average of 3.90 or higher, on a 4.0 scale. Those on the President���s List have achieved a grade point average between 3.75 and 3.89, while those students named to the Dean���s List have earned a grade point average between 3.50 and 3.74.  Chancellor���s List:

The Anderson Library has opened its gallery this summer to feature works by local artists Bob Treece and Joe Gower. ���I really hope people enjoy it and the space,��� said Chad Groves, Director of Instructional Support Services. ���It is something a little bit different and I hope people will stop in to see it.��� Both artists are originally from Olney. Treece attended The Art Institute of Chicago and paints in both realist and surrealist styles. Galleries in Chicago and St. Louis exhibited his artwork while he was living in those cities.

做厙賤躇���s Alpha Iota Epsilon chapter of the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society was recognized at the Illinois Regional Convention and Honors Institute. 做厙賤躇 won awards for its College Project, Honors in Action Project, Outstanding Officer Team, and Outstanding Chapter.   ���It is thrilling,��� said chapter co-advisor Kim Shucker. ���Winning the four awards was such a great testament to the scholarship and service mindedness our students in Phi Theta Kappa! It also awarded them for their abilities to work as a team and support each other.���

Olney Central College student Tyler Dowty is one of 16 finalists selected to compete in the 2022 Project MFG National Welding Competition in Wichita, Kan. Dowty was among 78 competitors from 13 states who participated in the qualifying round. The Claremont resident received a $500 cash award for advancing with the chance to win $10,000 at nationals on June 28 at Wichita State University Tech.

Frontier Community College has released its academic honor lists for the Spring 2022 Semester. Three lists have been established by Illinois Eastern Community Colleges to indicate students who have achieved academic excellence. They are the Chancellor���s Honors List, the President���s Academic Honors List and the Dean���s Academic Honors List.   To qualify for any of the honor lists, a student must be enrolled full-time (12 hours or more) and must be taking college-level classes.

The Wabash Valley College Men's Baseball Team recently fought their way to the semi-finals of the JUCO World Series. After a stellar season filled with all-star players who were ranked in the top 5 nationally in several categories (see below), the Warriors made it to the national tournament. There were several rounds of nail-biting games, but the Warriors managed to claw their way to the Final Four before falling just short of the Championship in their game with Central Arizona College.

做厙賤躇 will be represented in statewide leadership for Phi Theta Kappa for the second consecutive year. LTC���s Ethan Zakowski was elected to serve as the President of the Illinois Region.   He says that the new role means a lot to him. ���I���ve started my leadership at a small scale here at LT and now I���m taking on this position at a larger scale. This role is going to help my search for my next college, helps me in the future workforce, and it also gives me a behind the scenes look at how organizations run which is of interest to me.���  

Disney���s The Lion King JR. is playing at LTC starting on Saturday, June 25th at 7:00 pm and Sunday, June 26th  at 2:00 pm. The 60-minute musical, designed for middle-school-aged performers, is based on the Broadway production directed by Julie Taymor and the 1994 Disney film.

Disney���s WINNIE THE POOH KIDS! is playing at 做厙賤躇 starting on Thursday, June 23rd & Friday, June 24th at 7:00 pm. The 30-minute musical, designed for elementary-school-aged performers, is based on the 2011 animated feature film. The 做厙賤躇 Children���s Summer Theater cast contains approximately 22 students led by Mindy Evans.   Cast List:   Red............................... Lainey Aydt Orange......................
