Site work is underway for the New Applied Technology Center

OCC to Host Groundbreaking Ceremony for Applied Technology Center on January 15
Construction is slated to begin in early 2025 on a $3.15 million addition to Dr. Kent L. Wattleworth Hall, which will house Olney Central Colleges Radiography and Nursing programs. A groundbreaking ceremony is scheduled for 2 p.m. on January 15. The event will begin with remarks in the Dr. John D. Stull Performing Arts Center and then proceed to the construction site located on the northside of Wattleworth Hall.

Auditions Announced for LTC's Production of Footloose
The Arts at 做厙賤躇 is proud to announce auditions for its spring production of "Footloose," scheduled for Jan. 30 and 31 at 5 p.m. in the Zwermann Performing Arts Center.

做厙賤躇 Theatre will celebrate five decades of performances, memories, and community with a special 50th Anniversary Celebration on Saturday, February 22, at 6 p.m. The event will take place at The Woods Event Center, 10584 N. 600th St., Robinson, Ill.

LTC Hosts Etiquette Luncheon to Help High School Students Learn Dining Skills
Students from Oblong High Schools FFA and FBLA programs visited 做厙賤躇 for the annual Etiquette Luncheon, an event designed to teach professional dining skills, social etiquette, and networking strategies. The luncheon, organized and led by LTC President Tona Ambrose, provides students with hands-on experience in formal dining settings. I often start the event by having students take a deep breath and then I promise that by the time they leave, they will know what to do with each and every fork, spoon, and knife spread out all around them, Ambrose said.

The Arts at 做厙賤躇 announced its 2025 Childrens Summer Theater productions and something new. Once again, LTC will have two Childrens Summer Theater productions. In addition, LTC is adding a new program called Young Adults Theater for students 14-18 years old.

Nucor Skyline Donates to 做厙賤躇 Welding Program
做厙賤躇s Welding program recently received a generous donation from Nucor Skyline, further strengthening the partnership between the college and industry leaders. The donation will provide critical resources for the Welding program, specifically supporting the purchase of steel used in lab and hands-on training portions of the welding classes. The contribution comes in response to discussions during a recent Welding advisory committee meeting, where industry partners were made aware of the rising costs of materials and equipment.

FCC Automotive PRogram Receives National Accreditation
The Automotive Service Technology program at Frontier Community College in Fairfield, Illinois has received ASE Training Program accreditation by the ASE Education Foundation. To achieve this coveted recognition, the schools automotive training program underwent rigorous evaluation by the ASE Education Foundation. Nationally accepted standards of excellence in areas such as instruction, facilities, and equipment were used.
